Fruit Gushers, Fruit Roll-Ups, Fruit By the Foot, breadsticks with cheese dip, and DunkAroos? The guys are bringing back the 90’s talking about things they used to (and secretly still love to) eat! Then things get really serious as the conversation takes a massive turn on the topic of mental issues caused by perfectionism and writing code.

In this episode, Ufuk Kayserilioglu and I discuss the Lean Startup methodology and how it relates to the scientific method and the build, measure, learn loop, how to come up with ideas for businesses, sharpening up a business concept with the Lean Canvas, the real reasons people go to conferences, and how to measure success.

Over 2,600 members of the Rails community from 92 countries kindly contributed their thoughts on tools, frameworks, and workflows in their day to day development lives. From these responses we hope to get an understanding of where Rails stands as a framework in 2022.

During my talk at RailsConf 2022, I present a simplified version of Active

Record’s belongs_to and has_many methods. These

methods involve some metaprogramming to generate instance methods for the

association, and I demonstrate that using Ruby’s

define_method:
